We Appraise Coins!
There is no room for guesswork when it comes to appraising coins. Know what your rare coins are really worth by consulting with Minnetonka Rare Coin & Bullion.
Mankind has minted coins for over 2,500 years. The United States alone has minted thousands of different coins over the centuries, which may range in value from millions of dollars to … well, one cent.

Determining a coin’s monetary value is easy: It is inscribed right on the side. But determining a collectable coin’s actual market value is a science. A qualified numismatist (the twenty-five cent word for coin specialist) will consider a coin’s origin, condition, and rarity, as well as comparable recent sales to arrive at its true market value.
An amateur may be able to make a good guess at a coin’s value, but a single misstep can cause them to appraise their coin’s value too high – or worse, too low, and wind up incurring a great loss when they sell their coin online or at auction. (Opportunistic coin collectors love amateur coin appraisers for this very reason.)

A single coin can be complicated enough. People who inherit vast collections of antique coins which haven’t been appraised in decades really have no choice but to turn to an expert numismatist!
Whether you have one coin or several thousand, Minnetonka Rare Coin & Bullion is standing by to tell you exactly what your property is worth. Our owner and resident numismatist Don Whritenour takes great pride in his more than three decades of experience in coin appraisals and auctioning. Bring in your coins and Don will tell you both their retail and wholesale values, as well as how best to go about selling if you so wish.

Minnetonka Rare Coin & Bullion is a member of the Professional Numismatists Guild, which requires applicants to pass a criminal background check before becoming members. Fewer than 400 American coin dealers are members of the PNG, which guarantees customers legal recourse in the event of a dispute arising from appraisal or transaction.
